Netflix

I have to admit, I like watching movies but the idea of packing up two toddlers into a car, go to the movie store and try to hunt down a good movie while trying to control them does not appease me.  I am glad for http://www.netflix.com/.  I just list what I want, they send them to me, I watch, send back and get another. Rinse. Lather. Repeat.  The most I have to walk is the postbox.  Plus, it is so much cheaper.  I think it is cool you can watch through the Wii, I just wish this worked with other gaming systems.  It is cool to be able to watch the movies I havent seen since I was a kid and the new ones. Plus, get my kids movies for a low price.

Mobile Tracker

This one is kind of freaky.  It tells us how far technology has come.  I thought tracking people by their mobile phones was something only the police could do.  This website, http://www.themobiletracker.com/, will track anyone's phone using GPS and GSM technology.  This could be useful information but at the same time it could turn out to be a very bad situation.  The sight even says they are not responsible if someone abuses their website.  If someone knows your number all they have to do is enter your number and they can find where you are. Kind of freaky.  Now, of course, there is a marginal room for error.

Charlie the Unicorn

I thought Charlie the Unicorn would be for little kids considering the title.  I was told by people I work with I need to check it out because it is hilarious.  They are videos. I was skeptical looking at the title.  I figured this is going to be some stupid little kid thing that my children will get hooked on and I will have to watch 50 times a day.  I started watching it and realized this is not a little kid show with the attitude Charlie throws around.  It turns out the endings are hilarious.  It is a little sick at times, but good for laugh.  Just google Charlie the Unicorn to watch on Youtube.

Inspiring

At this point in my life it has been very difficult to maintain a positive attitude.  I have become quite the Negative Nancy, especially, since the holidays are here.  I keep trying to tell myself the Wheel of Fate constantly turns so at some point things will be right side up.  It is just a matter of when.  I have started looking to inspirational websites to help me keep a focus and uplight me.  My favorite so far is http://www.storypeople.com/. They all have different feelings to them so there is one for every type of person. One of my favorite is

These are teeth in a box & it swallows up all
the mean things in the world & holds them
in its jaws until time starts to change.

Some adults think this stuff is stupid.  I think things are not so much different from when you are a kid.

Writing a blog

I must say, I wanted to do this class because I thought blogging would be fun. I know a few people who do it.  I am not sure it is for me at this point.  I had a hard time trying to come up with things to write about. I think if I would have had a theme it would have been better.  My life is too hectic to maintain an actual blog. Plus, with my issues I dont feel I could get too personal with it or teach anyone anything useful.  Overall, this was a good experience. I think I just like inserting my opinions on others blogs and learning what I can from other people.

yay new car

I have come off active duty and had no mode of transportation. I could not afford payments and only had so much saved up. Thanks to craiglist.com I was able to find a great car in my budget. I must express I love craiglist. I was also able to get a free decent looking couch too. There is just so many good deals a person can find.

Meet new people

Now that I am trying to get settled in one place without the prospect moving around every few years, I realize I need to meet people.  This is not as easy as it sounds since I have two toddlers. It is not like I can just go to the clubs like I used to when I was younger.  Now, I would like to meet a different sort of folk that I have more in common with and would not be nervous to bring my kids around.  I get this with http://www.meetup.com/. You can search based on topic or zip code.  Basically, you meet people (who are interested in the same things you are) in public arenas.  This is good for me because now I can meet people in my area with children the same age.
